In this tutorial, we are going to see how to easily install or upgrade the Linux Kernel for openSUSE 13.2 or any other older versions. The kernel you are going to install is stable one and will be downloaded from official OpenSUSE repositories.

Linux Kernel Installation

Open the terminal (Konsole) and issue these commands:

su - 
zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ kernel 
zypper ref 
zypper dup -r kernel

When the installation is complete, reboot your system. You cam then check the current kernel version using this command:

uname -a
