In this tutorial, we will see how to easily upgrade/install Firefox 37.0.2 under CentOS 7/6. To make the installation easier, I have created a simple bash script that will download and install Firefox automatically.

First of all, let's remove the current Firefox version using these commands:

su -
yum remove firefox

Firefox 37.0.2 Installation

Next install Firefox 37.0.2 using the following commands:

su -
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47950494/LinuxServe/firefox
chmod +x firefox
sh ./firefox
After completing the installation of the browser, start it using this command:

firefox &

Optional

To create a desktop shortcut for Firefox, open the terminal, change the directory to your Desktop place using this command:

cd ~/Desktop

The run these commands:

wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47950494/LinuxServe/firefox-browser.desktop
chmod +x firefox-browser.desktop

You can now start Firefox from your desktop.
